Just as family traditions are passed from one generation to next, Silver Bridge
has maintained an enduring commitment that has spanned eight decades: helping successful
families achieve their goals. Silver Bridge traces its origins to the 1920s when
the Boston-based law firm Hale and Dorr began managing investments for clients as
part of its trust and estate practice. Through the efforts of influential corporate
and trust and estate attorneys, the practice grew over subsequent decades. Many
of those attorneys later served as trustees for some of the largest multi-generational
New England families who are still clients today. Over the years, the firm brought
in experienced investment and trust professionals, and in 1988 an independent registered
investment advisory company was formed to continue what is still Silver Bridge’s
mission: serving as a steward for the wealth and legacies of successful families.¹
Today, Silver Bridge brings organization and clarity to the complex financial lives
of families, not-for-profits, and other institutions. As a privately held firm that
is owner-managed, Silver Bridge provides a natural alignment of interests between
its principals and clients. Our solid heritage of fiduciary responsibility combined
with our contemporary approach to wealth management allows us to meet the needs
of today’s successful families and institutional clients.
